It’s to die for and adds the perfect crunch to every bite. Recipe below OR go to my website through the link in my bio 🤎  #Recipe Details (serves 8-12): Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Banana Cake: - 1/2 cup (113g) salted butter - 3/4 cup (170g) brown sugar - 1/4 cup (55g) granulated sugar  - 2 eggs, at room temperature - 2 tsp (8g) vanilla bean paste or extract  - 1 cup (275g) mashed banana (~2-3 bananas) - 1 cup (255g) Greek yogurt (substitution: sour cream)  - 2 2/3 cups (320g) all-purpose flour  - 1 1/2 tsp (6g) baking powder - 1 tsp (5g) baking soda - 1 tsp (6g) salt - 1 cup (200g) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate of choice  Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Crumb Topping: - 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour - 7 tbsp (90g) brown sugar - 7 tbsp (85g) granulated sugar  - 2 tsp (4g) cinnamon - 1/2 cup (113g) salted butter, melted - 3/4 cup (150g) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate of choice Homemade Whipped Cream (Optional, for Serving): - 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream, cold - 2 tbsp (40g) maple syrup - 2 tsp (8g) vanilla extract or paste - Pinch of salt Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease and line a 10” cast-iron skillet with parchment paper so it’s hanging over the sides. You can also use an 8x8” square baking pan or deep 9” cake pan. Start by browning the butter for the cake. Add the butter to a saucepan over medium-high heat. Allow to melt and slightly brown, while stirring continuously (~5-8 minutes). Once golden brown, remove from the heat and  immediately pour into a large bowl. Set aside to cool slightly. While the brown butter is cooling, prepare the chocolate chip cinnamon crumb topping. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, both sugar, cinnamon, and butter. Mix with a fork until it resembles wet sand. Then, add the chocolate chips and mix until evenly dispersed (I like to use my hands to do this, but you can use a fork). Place into the refrigerator to chill while you make the rest of the cake. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt for the cake. Set aside. Once the brown butter has slightly cooled, add both sugars and whisk to combine. Then add the eggs and vanilla, and whisk until well combined. Finally, whisk in the mashed bananas and Greek yogurt until fully combined. Add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to fold until just combined and there are no flour streaks remaining, being careful not to over-mix (the batter will be lumpy). Then, fold in the chocolate chips/chopped chocolate). Pour or scoop the batter into the prepared skillet or baking pan, and spread to even. Then, sprinkle the chocolate chip cinnamon crumb topping all over the top. Bake at 350F for 65-70 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean or with moist crumbs. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.  If you are planning on making homemade whipped cream to serve, prepare it while the cake is cooling. Add the heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla and salt to a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Beat until thickened and stiff peaks form (3-4 minutes). Then slice and serve warm with homemade whipped cream, olive oil, and flaky sea salt, if desired.
