with boys age spread, I'd say let them have their own room. Doesn't have to be forever. you can change things around. I did that every once in a while with my kids

Huge age difference. Wouldn’t want my 4 yr old in a room with 10 yr old.

How well the kids get along should be considered in the decision. Personally I think the age difference is too big between the boys. The girls should share the biggest room. Give each girl their own side with a separating curtain for privacy.

If he's already calling her 10 year old spoiled that's a huge red flag.

Geez! The two parents need to not move in together. They need to raise their children without all that BS.

It’s ridiculous for him to want a 10 y/o to share a room with a 4 y/o.

Good grief. You are blending a family. The 10yo is already an individual. Good God- a 4 yo in same bedroom with a 10yo? No. No. No way. Developmentally not healthy for either. The 4yo friends’ parents will quickly cut off those friendships because that 4 yo will be exposed too early with “all the things.” I would not marry somebody who already thought one of my kids were spoiled brats. I have been married twice. Second was a blended family. Total 4 kids. You cannot blend a family when one of the adults is a forking idiot and jealous of one of the kids. I’m angry and I don’t even know these people. This is just the tip of the iceberg. This argument is going to overshadow every single situation for the entirety of the 10 yo life. Dude, how the hell could you want your 4 yo son to be that exposed to 10 yo things?

The oldest is 6 years older than the other 3, he should get his own room, it's not favoritism, it is common sense. It sounds like the boyfriend just dislikes the 10 year old.

There’s 5 of us. My parents built a 4 bedroom home. My brother got his own room. The girls shared.

A 10 yo should not share a room with a 4 yo - regardless of gender.

I think the kids feelings shoukd come into play. If the 10 YO boy Wabts his own room, he may resent the younger one. Thst would be a bad situation

The Ausmerican Mom :
Sharing or not should be based on personality and how well they get along, not age. I have a 6 yo boy and a 1 yo boy and personality-wise, they might share even if they don’t have to because they just get along and like having company vs being in a room alone. Once my 1 yo sleeps through the night, we’ll likely move him in with his brother (he is currently with us most nights).
