Don’t kill the messenger, ok? But your lack of results is directly due to what you tell yourself about why you can’t… 1. “I can’t lose the weight because I don’t eat enough.” That’s legit impossible. There no overweight starving people in third world countries, ok? Stop with this nonsense. Truth is, you likely grossly undereat protein and grossly overeat carbs and fat and don’t move your body enough. If you were in a deficit, you wouldn’t be overweight.  2. “I barely eat and workout every day- I should be in shape.” Ok, do you though? Do you track your calories? Know how much protein you’re eating? Do you believe your smart watch? Unless you’re weighing and tracking your food, you don’t *really* know how many calories you’re consuming and until you weigh a serving a cereal or peanut butter- you’ll know what exactly what I mean. You’re probably eating 2x, 3x or 4x a serving amount. Also, your watch is not that accurate so you may think you’re burning more than you consume- you’re probably not.  3. “I tried every diet and nothing works.” Well, that’s because most diets are extremely restrictive and a complete 180° from your current lifestyle and totally impossible to stick with. But for some reason, people think the more they suffer the better the plan and I’m here to tell you that’s horse shit. Insufferable plans have little to no sustainability and why everyone falls off the wagon. Start slow and incorporate pieces of a plan week by week. Completely uprooting your whole life might feel like the right decision in the heat of the moment but truth is it will feel completely overwhelming and you’ll quit. Just like the last diet. Instead of cutting out entire food groups, restricting yourself until you can’t handle it, and overtraining- eat the foods you like in appropriate amounts and stack your habits over time. You won’t feel like a foreigner in your own life.  If any of these triggered you, sorry not sorry. You need to hear it and I only tell you this because I truly care and want to see you thrive.
