It was built by the Khmer Empire, and if they knew the truth, they’d see it was never theirs to begin with-it was taken, not earned😬Thailand occupied Angkor Wat for many years but never rightfully owned it. Even the name ‘Siem Reap’ holds meaning for Cambodians-it refers to the defeat of the Siamese (Thai) when they once occupied the area and used this name in the past.

For the people in the comments, please stop bickering with each other. What’s happening now is sad for both countries. It’s hard to say who started this first, since both sides tries to justify themselves and blame one another. Don’t spread hate and don’t blame each other for what the leaders have decided to do. This type of content only fuels the tension between us. We’re supposed to be friends, neighbors and enjoy papaya salad together. As a thai person myself, i’m very sad for all the lives that has been taken, both civilians and soldiers. But lets show each other love and compassion for what’s happening.
