This is a solid idea but you need to pay attention to the PSU wattage. Most Optiplexes have pretty small PSUs, so if your GPU needs a lot of power it wont work

Yes and No. Buy an HP. Throw in a GPU and some ram. Ram is super important as well, and some of it you can get pretty cheap

I bought a renewed optiplex with NO GPU and I can run fun like xbox 360 games and lower 🙏 not the best but I can run what I want lol

There is kinda an upper limit tho the power supplies usually don’t like being overworked. But you can get something cheap and play most titles yes. Just don’t expect AAA
