They saw what happened to Hiroshima and Nagasaki but did they see the war crimes Japan did.the us stopped Japan from doing more war crimes in the other countries, so please watch documentaries not only to what happened to the civilians in Japan but to those that were violated by japan

Was the attack on Pearl Harbor necessary? No. Was it necessary to then attack thousands of innocent civilians who had nothing to do with it? No. Both countries were wrong. And both suffered greatly from it. Rest in peace to everyone in both countries who lost their lives those two terrible days.

The fact that nobody understands why America bombed Japan is actually insane to me. Before you read that a leave hateful replies, I will say I do not condone nuclear warfare and do not think it’s right that so many civilians died in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki attacks. I just want to explain. America used nuclear weapons for a couple reasons. The main one is that, at least at the time, in Japanese culture surrendering was not an option. It was considered cowardly and completely against their beliefs. We see this shown in all of their battles and in their famous kamikaze pilots who would rather crash into the enemy than try and save themselves. America knew Japan was not going to surrender easily and they had no idea how long it would take. Thousands if not millions of lives could have been lost in the resulting warfare, so they made the decision to end the war quickly in a huge display of power that would force Japan to stand down. The second reason was to make themselves look stronger against Russia, who was beginning to become a problem. Showcasing the atomic bombs was to make Russia scared and to let them know how powerful America was. Also, probably the most important thing to note is that America did not make this decision lightly. There were months of weighing the pros and cons before they dropped the bombs. It was not a heartless decision, and it was certainly a hard one. Stop talking about things you don’t know enough about. You need to understand America’s reasoning before you jump to conclusions. (I know nobody will see this, but it’s worth a shot.)

This was NOT a counter strike. Pearl Harbor was a military base where 2,400 people died and 68 were civilian. Hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There is absolutely no sane argument or justification for the use of nuclear weapons.

Japan had already lost the war. Those two atomic bombs were not necessary. They were dropped to punish the Japanese. So far, the United States of America is the only country ever to use the atomic bomb against a population. The only ones.
