Love and acceptance are too small of a payout to justify and rationalize her behavior to OP. OP needs to cut her losses with her mom and not give her any more thought. The mental stress is not worth it.

Sounds like my ex MIL lol married 3 or 4 different times but had the nerve to txt me 3 years AFTER my divorce to tell me that God will always acknowledge my marriage to her son and no one else. Mind you, I was already remarried with a baby lol
