@screenwritinginla: By the way, @Kinolime Screenplay Comp just put up a script analysis of Jaws on their blog - where you can also download the script. Link in their bio to check it out. If you haven’t read the script, it’s so damn good. #stevenspielberg #robertshaw #jaws #acting #actors #screenwriting #screenwriters #director #directing #film #filmmaking #filmmakinglife #indiefilm #filmisnotdead #cinema #cinephilecommunity #behindthescenes #motivation
Why was the date of the sinking incorrect in that scene?

I did the Indianapolis monologue for my drama 2 class in high school and my drama teacher still talks about it to this day, Shaw did sooo good

Shaw should’ve got a award for that long scene talking about Indianapolis. The depth and performance he gave was outstanding.

What makes me happy is that Spielberg is one of the richest people in Hollywood yet the soles of his shoes are so worn.

Evidently Shaw and Dryfus hated each other during the making of this movie and eventually got into an altercation .

My 23 yr old son and I just bought the Lego set and we’re watching jaws together - his first time - and when that scene came up (we always watch with closed caption) I paused it when he stated the date - we were watching it on June 29 2025. Exactly 80 yrs to the date. It was a moment. 😱🦈

It’s widely known that Spielberg didn’t direct jaws, in fact it was Hitchcock who directed jaws as the young directors mentor at universal.

I saw Jaws when it first came out. To this day when I watch that scene I get goosebumps. In my mind the greatest soliloquy ever filmed. Thank you for it.
