except that there was no oncoming traffic, and the robotaxi did pretty much what human drivers wanting to get into the turn lane would have done in the same situation (albeit less smoothly than most people).

So funny how the introduction of every new innovation ever has always been met with ridicule and skeptisism, and almost everytime the invention would take over the world in just a decade or so. Bicycles. Cars. Airplanes. Of course there is going to be flaws. That’s why its new technology.

So the turn lane was full all the way back into the intersection. Tesla had to decide stop in the middle of the intersection, or scoot up past cars to get to the left turn lane.
