The amazing Hodan Nalayeh was a Somali-Canadian media executive, journalist, social activist, and entrepreneur. She was inspiring figure known for her unwavering commitment to showcasing the positive aspects of Somalia and its diaspora, challenging the often negative portrayals in mainstream media. She cared for Somali youth and loved sharing her culture primarily through Integration TV, an online platform she founded. Through this medium, she produced and hosted videos that highlighted the achievements of young Somalis, female entrepreneurs, and the beauty of Somali life, culture, and landscapes. She aimed to inspire hope, uplift spirits, and connect Somalis around the world by providing a platform for positive storytelling. Her work fostered a sense of pride and identity among Somali youth, encouraging them to embrace their heritage and contribute to the development of their homeland.
