Replying to @Victoria I like the overall message here, but let’s see if we can make things a bit clearer for the ladies that may need this. Because ALL my women lift heavy and grew their glutes. So this may seem contradictory here - Hypertrophy isn’t a technique. It’s a physiological process where we see muscle growth. That process requires a stimulus which mechanical tension would be that stimulus. Without mechanical tension taking place, you will not cause muscle growth.  - So, fun fact. You can have mechanical tension take place at many different rep ranges. Whether it be 3-6, 6-10, or 10-15. But there’s a caveat. Regardless of that rep range, there has to be some high degree of effort within that set to allow for that stimulus. Ask yourself why warm up sets don’t build muscle. Or to take it a little further, if there was a weight you could do for 15, but stop between 1-9 reps.. you’d call that a warm up set right? - Mind-to muscle connection will not cause muscle growth. You can feel the muscle all you want, but without a high degree of effort within the set, you will not cause hypertrophy. You can feel your muscle during a warm up set, but what does that mean? - Lastly, if you are lifting too heavy to where form is an issue, yes, you can lighten the load. But that does not mean lifting heavier will not cause growth. In fact, lifting heavier will work out for you in the long run. But regardless of how you approach it, you should strive to get stronger. That’s how you know you’re actually building muscle rather than just chasing a “pump” that’ll go away.  - Progressive overload; Get stronger over time.
