I used to just buy the coffees when I met up with my (ex) friend. for literally years, never asked for the money back. I was going through a really hard bereavement and she convinced me to go out with her, we met o had forgotten my purse, she got herself a drink and didn't get me one, because "I shouldn't expect other people to pay for me" I got up, and never spoke to her again

I charged my phone in my friends house and she said you put your phone on the charger without even asking me for permission. You need to pay me £5 towards my electric bill. I said it's okay i will just go home and charge my phone and she started crying and said you can't leave we have plans to go out

my “friend” told me to try her portion of bread (saying like - omggg I am so full but this bread is perfect) during lunch and then when we split the bill she added 50% of the price of this bread to my part.

I was invited to someone’s house for dinner. Asked if there was anything I could bring along. I never go empty handed, was told no. Then was given a bill for £6.47 after the dinner 😂😂. Never ever went again and they weren’t short of money

I have a friend that dated a girl for 3 years, after he broke up with her, she gave him a bill for everything she bought when they were together right down to thing like a chocolate bar or a coke , it was like ten pages , like she was writing it down while they were dating just incase

I once joined a group dinner very late (i had a packed schedule and it was the only time I can catch up with them before I leave town). i got offered their leftovers (it was literally 2 pieces of meat from their kbbq). I was asked to evenly split the bill with them.

Me and me ex would take turns getting a takeaway every week, when she paid it was £21. When it was my turn it was £20 she would ask me to transfer the £1 since she spent more. Even though there were times i spent more and never asked for anything because it was my treat. She earned twice as much as me aswell 😂

I have friends where we all chip in and other times we also don't expect anything back as its reciprocated but there are other people who i know are take advantage of me as its pretty obvious there happy to allow me to pay for everything and not offer and say they have no money but are telling me all the other stuff theyve bought...thats what I dont understand about people, so with those people I stopped being as generous/kind when I knew it was being taken advantage of

Went out with a friend for drinks, paid for all the drinks cause she said she was skint I even paid for her uber home and they over charged me £20 and ended up paying £35 for an uber and she ignored me

Thé first “friend” is Dutch, there is a Dutch culture called “tikkie” where everything is paid back, even if it’s a piece of fruit you ate at their home.

A few years ago I was invited too a date and he payed for it because he wanted to be nice, and the next week when I found out I didn’t want to go on more dates because we didn’t match.. he wanted me to pay back for me and him:)) I didn’t pay him back and never talked to him again
