That barrier has been there for months… to prevent drivers from accidentally turning from the street onto the riverwalk. The alarm in channelside is Channel Club testing their fire alarms. It’s not that deep lol

Tampa PD and HCSO has always ramped up their presence, Independence Day and New Year’s Eve, they definitely do DUI Check Points along some Major Roads in and out of Tampa, keeping everyone safe from people doing stupid things
