@they.never.left4: The Full Story- Tsutomu Yamaguchi was a 29-year-old engineer working for Mitsubishi during World War II. On August 6, 1945, he was on a business trip in Hiroshima, just finishing up paperwork before returning home. At 8:15 a.m., the first atomic bomb—Little Boy—was dropped by the U.S. bomber Enola Gay. Yamaguchi was about 3 km from ground zero. The blast threw him into the air, ruptured his eardrums, burned his upper body, and temporarily blinded him. But incredibly, he survived. The next day, bandaged and injured, he made the long journey home to Nagasaki, his hometown. He told colleagues and his boss about what he’d seen in Hiroshima—but no one believed such destruction could be caused by one single bomb. On August 9, as he was recounting the story again, the second atomic bomb—Fat Man—was dropped on Nagasaki. Yamaguchi survived both atomic bombings. He’s the only person officially recognized by the Japanese government as a “nijū hibakusha” — a double atomic bomb survivor. Despite intense pain and radiation effects, he lived a long life, became an anti-nuclear activist, and gave powerful speeches warning about the horrors of nuclear war. He died peacefully in 2010 at age 93. #tsutomuyamaguchi #analoghorror #horror #creppy #creepy #horrortok #scary #hiroshima #nagasaki #hiroshimanagasaki
