Hi! This issue should be fixed now, we're really sorry people had to experience this. it appears this is an issue with a lot of different Steam games, including Valve's own, where people can join by searching up your profile if it was public. People then figured out how to bypass the steam setting so we immediately investigated. A patch was pushed yesterday to fix this issue but if anyone has this happen again, please reach out to us through our support email - I really wanna reiterate that we're a small team but we jumped on this as soon as we were made aware of it ❤️

Update 06/24: Devs said they patched it. However I just saw this same thing happen 10mins ago on someone else's stream. So... yeah.

yeah, saw your steam review on the game. unfortunately, the game is very new and there is no private lobby feature yet. they will most likely add it in soon, but for the time being just take their advice.

but for them to join through steam wouldn't they have to know your steam name and be on your friends list to join? but yeah it does look like they are blaming the players for not having their steam on private. it's like they can't take any accountability for their game being broken and messed up.

cyber security is a personal issue to begin with and will always be treated as such, even in large scale companys and operations. if you leak your info, YOU leaked your info. if you leak a CSRF token YOU leaked it. it becomes the company or organisations problem to mitigate after the fact internally

the added an "invite only" option in the main menu which fixes this luckily. I'm sure you know this but already edited this short, but ya!

IMO I think their Twitter handler is just really meh in how they handle things in general, so they more than likely don’t speak for the whole company. Doesn’t make it any less of a bad look however, especially when they complained about how peak has so many more sales than their souls-like crab game.

I never put my Steam profile in private. I do this so it's easy for my dedicated followers to find me and to play games.

This happened to blizz last night; supposedly there’s a seed code in the top left by the version number so try to cover that somehow. But I’m not positive that will help keep people from doing this. I’m sure the devs are just stressed because it looks bad on them.
