@taylorjnelsen: Tell me I’m not overreacting by not wanting to do the 3 hour test. Give me your horror story 😶😵💫 #glucosetest #pregnant #glucosedrink #Vlog #thirdtrimester #firsttimemom #foryoupage #gestationaldiabetes
i declined my 3 hour and monitored my levels! i figured if i did have it, i should learn about my body and how to check them! ended up being super borderline so im still tracking and it’s not as bad as you think! you’ve got this!!🥰

I also failed my one hour test and then went back in for the three hour the next morning and passed with flying colors. I brought a book in with me to pass the time and it really wasn’t too bad. The worst part to me was just the repeated blood draws but it felt good to just get it done and not have to think about whether or not I had gestational diabetes anymore. Good luck with either way you decide!!

I don’t like when they say “typical candidate” because I am low BMI, have always eaten healthy, and still got gestational diabetes 😊 For me the 3 hour test wasn’t that bad! I was worried about it too though. It was just really boring having to sit around for 3 hours. Personally I think it’s better than tracking your meals and pricking your finger 4x a day for a couple weeks

If it makes you feel better I opted to do the glucose tracking at home instead as well! My first pregnancy I failed the 1 hour but passed the 3 hour except barely. This pregnancy I barely failed my 1 hour (137) even though my last doctors scale was 140 and under. The 3 hour made me so sick. After doing it for a week all my levels have been fine!

1) I mean this as respectfully possible, but the risks of GD aren’t just having a big baby. When you have GD and if your blood sugar is running high constantly from not being treated, it can cause massive risks and implications for baby. It’s not something to take lightly. The 3 hour test isn’t pleasant but it’s massively important to rule out if you have it or not. 🤍

I failed both tests. The 3 hour, other than being boring, really didn't make me feel super sick until the end, but it turned out that my blood sugar went from 140 to 68 in one hour and it was dropping fast. I got something to eat and felt better.
I've been diet controlled since 28 weeks and am currently 36 weeks now. Baby is measuring right on time. It can all be super scary and overwhelming but it's worth it for this baby. ❤️

*I took the one hour test after not eating for a few hours & my urine test showed that I was fasting so my doctor thought that could have been the problem OR she thinks I could have naturally lower blood sugar & I process it slower so I would be bound to fail the 1 hour test. Or I just have GD & that’s why!!*
