I hardly ever let my daughter have a phone or an iPad, she knows how to distract herself pretty well, even in public we don't ever give her the iPad or phone. when I say she has limited screentime, I mean it, like she'll go 3-5 whole weeks without it, play on it for one day and then another 3-5 whole weeks she won't use it; she'll ask for it sometimes and we'll tell her she can earn the screentime first. We even have a no screen in the car rule, I want her to build her imagination - I don't understand how some parents can place their kid in front of an iPad all day everyday - I don't parent shame but I do wonder

It doesn’t magically get fixed either, my 15yo brother was one of the early iPad kids, he literally doesn’t know how to handle boredom without a phone or such. Our power went out at night the other day and he had no clue on what to do
