Nah. When Riker and Worf exit the hall into the core area, the camera was pulled back about 20'. By the time Riker walks back into the hall, the camera is right behind him. The perspective is weird, but there's no mystery.

Set building glitch. That corridor is likely used for other shots in the movie and to save space/time they built it alongside that engineering set. They then filmed this scene without realising it’s not consistent with the actual ship design.

theres another issue..when Soren fires his rocket at the veridian sun, it only takes a few seconds for the missile to reach the sun and detonate it..the missile isnt travelling at warp, so the veridian sun must be only a few miles above the planet...or otherwise it just wouldnt work...even worf says anything launched from the surface would travel to fast to get a lock 🤦♂️🤷♂️

The bigger problem with the movie is the fact that two brainiacs like Picard and Kirk didn’t think of leaving the Nexxus at a point where the bad guy was lounging on the enterprise. Why go back to the final moments on the planet trying to stop the launch?

The camera view was from in the little elkov so you couldn't see the hallway. And when the camera moved out into the that the position between the warp core and the pool table.As you call it, then you can see the hallway

I mean. From a set construction point of view, they clearly didn’t have the normal wall that they would have there for whatever reason and they just put in the hallway. Those sets were modular and you could take walls down, put walls up all the time.

The new hallway could be open all scene long, because in the beginning of that scene, the camera angle does not allow us to see that part of the set. and they just did it, so Riker can leave quicker. 😅

its not a mystery. he was already behind the table when looking at the core. he takes a hard right to walk into the hallway, as he should because that's where it is.
