do you guys think that scene with Celine was supposed to represent asian parents that have this kind of prejudice with their children that have any physical/mental chronic illness or even special needs kids. The like "cover those up" is soo giving that, especially for those who have to mask their whole lives

i cant really hate celine because she was taught to kill demons growing up, i feel more blame on rumis mother because i feel like it's selfish to have a child with a demon knowing what purpose that child will have when they get older . celine wanted to protect rumi from what she grew up hating and she wasn't perfect. im glad rumi did stand up to her though but a lot of my thoughts think that rumis mom is also to blame, i wish we could see what her thought process was before rumi

I don’t really blame her, cause her friend(rumi’s mom) died, and she didn’t exactly know what to do with her cause she was a demon hunter, and didnt know what to do beside tell her to cover them up.

well to be fair, I think Celine is also pretty conflicted, one of her closest friend had a child w a DEMON, something she was always supposed to kill, but she couldn't do that to Rumi, bc that's her friends child, and I think she was scared to let gwi-ma know and take advantage of that so she raised her to cover it unintentionally making her think negatively abt herself in the process
