I adore that there were shot for shots, but also scenes that were expanded upon and different so it adds more depth without taking away from the story or making the live action a pointless remake. Like when Hiccup says "that's all I need" instead of "thanks dad" when Stoick tells him he's proud to call him his son? I LOVED that. I absolutely loved that they showed just how hurt Hiccup was by his dad's dismissive behavior towards him, rather than just playing it off more for jokes like the animation. They show it a little in the animation, but they REALLY focus on it a lot more in the live action.

Idc what anyone says, nico is such a good actor for Astrid. She’s an amazing actor in general and I’ve been saying that since I watched her as Sarah for the first time, which was literally ages ago. My girl deserves NONE of this hate 😭
