I had this realisation too and had the same feelings, but then I met someone who made me feel like “grown up love” and it was perfect. We’re sensible, we’re experienced and we know what we want about the future. It’s not a rollercoaster, it’s not toxic, it’s not rocking between yearning, frustration, passion, obsession. It’s better than that. It’s healthy, I feel better, it’s stable, gentle, deep. We found someone that’s perfect for us. It’s like we found the person we’d each been craving, like meeting someone we already knew and have been missing all this time. Don’t mistake it for boredom, if you’re bored it’s probably not right. ❤️

You know what’s worse? Craving/missing something u never had. I’m 22 Never had a first love, relationship anything. And idk how to feel about that now that I’m aware of the darkside of this world and especially men in relationships. There never was and never will be an innocent love for me..

I want to challenge your view by telling you something an elderly lady told me once: True love will always make you feel young again, you’ll fight, have arguments, make up, and every day might not be the greatest. But once you find your person it every day will feel like falling in love for the first time again as you grow together, so don’t give up and don’t settle for less because that person could pass you by if you don’t love & experience the beauty of life itself.

I recently learned about “moral injury” which is the main wound that led to me feeling anhedonic about be able to connect like that again. But the fact I still have it in little moments, just not that huge way, is evidence that it does exist it’s just a matter of safe vs unsafe versions
