@h00pifyreacts: What is an impressive mile time? @Santa Cruz Medicinals @Barstool Big Cat #miletime #milerace #fastmiletime #miletest #runner #trackandfield #ryenrussillo
Must take into account all of those into one imo. I can do a 5:45 mile, 265 bench, 315+ on squat. But to me, if I could only do the run at 5:45 and then benched like 135… that is super unimpressive to me because then I’d be just a one-dimensional twig.

I think 5:30 is probably 225 on bench

David :
6 min mile = 225 bench, impressive but not insane and 5 min mile = 315 bench insane.

Approximately 0.02 of the general population can run a sub 6 minute mile while 1-2% of men can bench press 225 pounds, according to data from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. So a 6min mile is definitely more impressive than 225

102 men have ran 3:50.00 for the mile or faster. Wondering if there's an equivalent bench or squat PR that only about 100 men in history have done?

Cohen Nelson :
This “debate” is only going around among lifters/non-endurance athletes. While the mile race isn’t exactly that much of an endurance race, optimizing your mile race time and optimizing your strength/explosiveness are paradoxical. That said, sub 5:00 = 225 bench. These are both evenly leveled benchmarks for their respective disciplines when it comes to time it takes to achieve the mark and relative hype around it in peer groups.

I’m in 8th grade and ran a 6:14 but the winner ran like a 5: 15

225 equivalent is closer to 5:00. If we’re talking average person good, then under 6:00. 225 is not average.
