We had to read this in 7th grade, which was the same year the movie came out as well. So we read the book and then took a class trip to the movie😂 still one of my all time favorites

I read the sequel without knowing it was related to holes (which I had read) and about halfway through the first chapter I thought “hey, they’re calling this guy armpit, I know that nickname” and then it clicked
