@ancestralwhispersdotorg: Facial reconstruction of a 2,800-year-old man from the Koban culture in Ossetia The Koban culture was a Kartvelian, Colchian culture associated expansion into the North Caucasus, where it both influenced and was influenced by the peoples of the Post-Dolmen Horizon, precursors to the Northwest Caucasian-speaking Proto-Maeotian culture, and the Kayakent-Khorochoi culture, which was likely proto-Nakh. The clothing is based on authentic archaeological finds, scholarly research, and analyses of undisturbed burial complexes from the classical period of the Koban culture (3000–2700 years ago), as showcased on the historical reenactment festival Heritage of the Steppes and Mountains. Males of the Koban culture had, on average, a large cranial length of 188 mm, a medium cranial width of 140 mm, and a narrow facial width of 126.7 mm. #phenotype #ancientdna #genetics #skull #caucasus #anthropology
