Yup that’s why I consider the iPhone as a camera first, it’s a buddy for my full frame A7c and can be really useful. Most people don’t understand how crazy an iPhone can get once rigged with a cage, an external ssd, nd filter and ProRes Log 4K 120 fps. It does not look like phone footage.

There already high DR sensors but they're used for industrial purposes. I would imagine that's what this patent is. If not, they would likely have to partner with a brand that makes the hardware and processors to actually make a functioning camera.
