those types of traps are considered More dangerous because they restrict blood flow and break the limb of the animal, Oftentimes it'll lead to the animal chewing their leg off resulting in the loss of life from severe bleeding, the toothed traps don't restrict blood flow to the limb obviously painful still but the animal has a higher likelihood of surviving until the person using it can do whatever they'll do with animal when they check their traps instead of it hobbling off into the woods to expire. There are also different weights of traps for different animals to limit certain explosive results like the video shows.
