they straight up lied and said he wants to replace cops with social workers when the actual plan is to create a department that would respond to calls about mental health crises and homeless people so that the police can focus on actual crimes like robberies. he also wants to eliminate mandatory overtime for police officers so that they don't have to work double and triple shifts which would mean their decision making skills wouldn't be drained.
