@thabiso.goba1: At a recent ANC election strategy session, the party’s first Deputy Secretary General, Nomvula Mokonyane, chased away SACP (South African Communist Party) members. The ANC and SACP are in an alliance and a number of people have dual memberships of the two parties. However last year, the SACP resolved to contest elections alone and no longer under the ANC banner. As a result, Mokonyane said SACP members cannot sit-in on ANC meetings. Mokonyane said the ANC cannot afford to have another Jacob Zuma situation where it is sitting with people it will later be contesting against for the same votes.
