@ai.for.real.life: MidJourney’s New Video Generator – Hit or Hype? I ran a real-world test using client work. Here’s what I found. Everyone’s buzzing about MidJourney’s release of its V1 video model its first image-to-video tool but does it live up to the hype? Here’s how it works: you upload an image and click “Animate.” You can choose between automatic motion generation or write your own custom motion prompt. You also pick between Low Motion and High Motion styles. The system then gives you four video clips, each about 5 seconds long, and you can extend them in 4-second increments up to 21 seconds total. I tested it on client visuals and some older projects. At first, I wasn’t impressed the animations felt off, sometimes glitchy or flat. But when I tried it again using images designed with the model in mind, the results were way stronger. So yeah, what you feed it matters. The output is 480p at 24 frames per second, and it keeps that classic MidJourney style: dreamy, painterly, and stylized. If you’re expecting photorealism or cinematic storytelling like what you’d get from Runway Gen-2 or Google’s Veo, this isn’t that. But for visual art and concept design, it’s got a vibe. Yes, you can prompt it either use MidJourney’s auto-motion or write your own with the –motion flags. You’ve also got the option to run it in raw mode for more control over how the animation plays out. And no, it’s not free. But you can access the video tool on the $10/month Basic plan. Video generations use about 8x the GPU credits of an image, but you’ll still be able to create several animations before your credits run out. It’s not unlimited, but it’s definitely usable. Compared to other platforms like Runway, Pika Labs, and Leonardo (which now integrates Google Veo 3), MidJourney’s version is more limited no timeline editor, no multi-shot scenes, no keyframe control. But it’s still a welcome step forward for fans of the platform and for anyone looking to bring their art to life without switching tools. So what do you think? Is this a game-changer for MidJourney artists? Or is it more of a polished preview than a fully baked feature? Drop your thoughts in the comments. I want to know is this a hit or just more hype? #MidJourneyVideo #AIAnimation #AIArtTools #RunwayML #PikaLabs #VideoGeneration #AICreativity

Would Mid Journey be better for text to video, image to video? I’m looking at getting Mid Journey because of the price over the price of Veo3

How do you create long form video with MJ or do you have to upload different pictures at different angles?

MJ did good out the gate for it being their fist version video model. They had good realistic and real videos to rate during the rating party before launching. I think depending on what one uses it for, it'll do the job. I used it in my last video about the HBO show "Gilded Age"
