Huntington is very much racist and a lot of the families that been there for generations are the worst and in law enforcement and etc .there no programs or groups for our youth . Huntington’s a beautiful city but it was shocking how visible the drug problem was when I visited - unlike anything Ive seen even having grown up in another place hit bad by the opiod crisis, or even anything ive seen in much bigger cities. Hope it can recover

as someone from, and who grew up in huntington, I say this....all of the drug problems, homelessness problems, crime problems...did not happen at the rate that we are known for until the city elected a democratic mayor. I know that sounds like bs, but honest to God look it up and compare the numbers, you will see crime was much lower for years leading up to a democratic mayor being elected, and then when Steve Williams took over and served 3 terms, it became like Philly. and sad part is is a former cop. but cops can be dirty and he certainly was. now they elected a republican this year and in 6 months has established a precinct in Pullman square and actually going after criminals instead of taking bribes so turn a blind eye like snakey steve.

Unless you’re healthy and have money than the city is for you otherwise no one gives a shit about you. Marshall health network is a joke. They gaslight people tell him it’s all in their head. Try to only prescribe them. I have that depressant and anxiety medicine. Tell him to drink water tell exercise more. No help for anybody trying to get on disability because I can’t work anymore, they have chronic pain because of their illnesses and stuff. The Disability site is an accessible. The city is an accessible. The mayor only cares if he can make money for the city he doesn’t care about the poor people in it. Everything‘s going up apartment is going up is hard to get a job anywhere and if you can’t work, then you left on the streets and if you’re homeless, then they just wanna sweep you underneath the rug. Have you become homeless while waiting on disability or you can’t get on disability because they keep denying you this student doesn’t wanna help you. And if you become homeless status, wanna sleep take the rug as a nuisance as a druggie as a mentally ill person when you’re not. But these people are becoming more homeless because then once hiring everywhere places for closing down left and right seems to be replaced by AI or robots. And the people they do have working they over work to death until they drop dead at the work site or they quit because they couldn’t do it anymore. And I wish that the city would help the poor and disabled instead of sweeping us under the rug.
