Fun fact: being a reasonably eloquent speaker doesn’t mean you’re right. Botswana was famously *left alone* by the British. The Americans were as imperialistic as the Europeans were. Ethiopia spent centuries constantly fighting the Ottomans and Islamic forces in Somalia, then entered a brief warlord period and *finally* conquered by Italy.. before becoming the target of American interventionalism. Rhodesia’s government was *hated* by the black African population.
