@kokeakokea:Dear my beloved people around the world,
Cambodia was under the rule of Siam (Thailand) from 1352 to 1863. During this long period, Cambodia absorbed and adopted many aspects of Thai influence — from clothing and cultural customs to palace architecture and traditions. One visible example is the transition from wearing the sampot to adopting Thai-style attire, which continues to influence Cambodian dress to this day.
Additionally, several Cambodian kings were educated in Thailand and brought back Thai styles in palace construction and royal ceremonies. This historical influence can be verified through various historical websites and records.
During the Khmer Rouge regime, much of Cambodia’s intellectual heritage — including history books and scholars — was tragically destroyed. As a result, many Cambodians today are disconnected from their own complex historical roots.
So, before believing any Cambodians who try to promote a distorted version of history online or on social media, we encourage you to do a quick search from neutral and reliable sources. This will help prevent the spread of misinformation and ensure historical truth is preserved.
With love and respect,🙏🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
