going through it at the moment we are school refusal just had a meeting with tusla and teachers and I just feel mainstream isn't the setting for him his peers are way head of him was diagnosed with ASD in junior infants

It's crazy how the department want to push constantly for integration into mainstream. Mainstream is not suitable for many of these children. We need more special schools.

fair play 2 his mum for highlighting this my school is fantastic got an assessment n inconclusive tired pushing him to private assessment n thrives in practical subjects 2

you should have a look at the Special Olympics Ireland clubs across the country as they members are skipping meals to pay club fees and other events

Ive very similar story although wen my son was assessed half way thru 4th class .... previous this,he had a total of 10 TEACHERS that did not notice tat he wasnt Academically on par wit his peers...and there for the School let me son down massively,and ive proof of negligence.... Desperate in dis day+age
