Why are we still debating on whether the neutral carries current do people not read the NEC or think?

It’s actually scary how many people think this way. I’ve been in more arguments about this exact topic than anything else electrical related.

neutral carries current under NORMAL circumstances and ground does not.

I’m so thankful I live in a state that requires a license to do electrical work. I’m also thankful for the difficulty of the test because not all electricians are created equal.

I think people have a hard time understanding resistance and think that just because they connect *somewhere*, that theyre the same thing.

That's why you don't bond subpanels...

I seen this way to many times, and I do HVAC, some electricians don't want to be corrected.

You'll see some measurable voltage between ground and neutral which easily disproves the whole "ground and neutral are the same thing" - without having to run a jumper

This is wild, in Australia out neutral goes to ground, there is 0 potential difference between neutral and ground (earth)

The Neutral is the center tap of the transformer, which is definitely not the ground.
