Trump is right!!! Birthright citizenship was specifically intended for Freed Blacks and their descendants after the Civil War. It was not meant to be an immigration loophole so that people could come illegally and have their children gain US citizenship. The author of the citizenship clause of the amendment said so. Even Native American Indians were excluded from the 14th amendment, and had to gain citizenship through the Indian Citizenship Act.
