@bloombergpolitics: Apollo Global Management President Jim Zelter told Bloomberg that the company is "determined" to stay in #NewYork — He reacts to Zohran #Mamdani, who is poised to become the Democratic nominee for mayor of #NewYorkCity, on "Bloomberg Surveillance." #politics #US #NYC
Current nyc mayor is an actual criminal, what are we even talking about 😭

The current mayor is literally a corrupt cop. I think a guy with ideas who is listening to constituents will be fine.

Spooking the millionaires and billionaires is the best sign that we are on the right track to cure the mess we are in. Mamdani for mayor! Power to the people 👊

Zohran is a VERY well spoken 33 year old with 4 years of professional experience and family money. He has potential BUT NYC needs a leader with proven experience in accomplishing complex government and community goals. Zohran may have it eventually but doesn’t have that now.

Born and raised New Yorker here. Currently live in the BX - there’s no way in hell can we have socialism here. Everyone band up and vote for Adams. I like my safety, freedom of choice, and ability to make money. Socialism gets you the exact opposite.

So they’ll take home $230,000 a month instead of $300,000 a month. Poor souls.

This line of questioning is problematic too. Did he "threaten" to leave when criminal Adams was mayor? What about when a criminal on 5th & 57th became prez? Why should Mamdanis rise be treated like a threat to mankind? Media are sickening lately

They are not leaving, even if they open up satellite sites in Florida , Texas, or wherever. NYC is NYC

the tax increase we’re talking about for people who make an income over $1M… for scale, if you made $100k, it’d be like an extra $150.00 a year. Anyone leaving New York over that was too weak to be here in the first place

Wow can everyone relax. He does not even have the power to raise taxes. We need business here and we need to attract more corporate and small business. And the city will.

Very few, if any, will actually leave. Aside from the fact that Mamdani has proven to be flexible when his ideas don’t work, what he’s proposing is less of a hit than attempting to reestablish somewhere else. Especially Florida, which has a lot of problems of its own. This is all before the fact that as Mayor he doesn’t have the power to implement a lot of what he wants to do without negotiating with others, which will further reduce perceived negative impact. The threats from the wealthy are largely empty, and meant to scare people into giving them everything they want, instead of most of what they want.

You know who had experience: Eric Adams, John Lindsey, Bill DeBlasio….no choir is singer their praises (although I have a soft spot for DeBlasio and pushing pre-k), so let’s get off the experience matters. Instead we should say competence and listening matters, imo.

Mamdani’s does have some really great ideas. Everyone knows that when your in a crisis like shelter affordability and access to food, the best thing you can do is implement price controls and state-owned grocery stores.

This is an example why I stop watching tv news. Leadership?! there is a reality show Felon in a White House. News are jokes no one speaks facts or provides all sides
