I don't hate him, that's not a huge thing to lie about anyways compared to how 001 betrayed him, that lie didn't backfire on anyone. He was just a guy trying to survive and I think any of you guys would do the same to be safe if that's what it came to, to fit in to a group to be protected. He didn't bring the mags but not in spite of of them it was because he was in shock and his body wouldn't let him move or speak. Yeah it sucks but it's no reason to hate him, he obviously cared for his group and would revive them in a heartbeat if he could.
