I don’t know why people are so negative regarding hijab when all the abrahamic religions cover their hair. Christians and catholics wear a head scarf when they go to church, Jews also wear a head wrap or wigs and ALL dress modestly wearing long skirts and dresses and long sleeves or shawls.

I think he said it there. Islam has always demanded sacrifice of what we desire the most; our gaze, our beauty, our relaxation, our son…so surely it’s not law to be safe from men (which one will never be) but clearly only a command from God. But I can be totally wrong about this interpretation.

I don’t get it, why are men blamed for control. Is it not an innate behaviour that a woman wants to safeguard herself and cover up , it’s a small voice inside that tells us from wrong and right , are we desperately trying to suppress it and blame men …. My dresses have short sleeves , but I wear pull up sleeves to cover my arms, it’s not because of men, it’s me as a woman I do not want to expose my arms. This argument about men controlling is something I don’t understand
