I think anything the government requires you to have to some degree there should be a free version provided by the government for low income people. If they say you Must have car insurance then they should have a sign up option for state sponsored car insurance ect ect

Funnily I think a lot of people who call themselves “moderate democrats” are more left leaning than they think, at least in my experience. My own grandfather who grew up in Appalachia in a mining community labels himself a “conservative democrat” but because of his upbringing leans much more towards being a social democrat because he’s strongly workers rights oriented. I think a lot of boomers are still holding onto fears from the red scare, so a lot of dem politicians think they can’t appear TOO left otherwise theyll scare this major voting base.

Based on what you said, I’m gonna guess your favorite president is Obama. I got to see him in person in 2011 after the Joplin tornado. He came to the college to speak to us. I still watch that speech on YouTube sometimes. Still makes me cry.
