Don’t give up on her. My really good friend from High school(who also was in addiction) had to order me 17 plane tickets. Every time I got to the airport I would either change my mind or cancel the flight. After 6 months I finally got the courage to get on the flight and it changed my life. I’ve been clean for over 3 1/2 years now. I know what she’s going through because change sucks when you’re in your addiction but having somebody who never stopped believing in me made me believe in myself. I pray that she makes that choice to turn her life around.

It breaks my heart hearing you apologize so much. I work for an opioid recovery program. And it’s so hard when they’re not ready so I feel that to my core, but you’re planting seeds that they never had. She may not be ready right now but she’ll always remember that there are people who want to help. So next time she is ready, she’ll be slightly less scared to ask for help than she might’ve been if she never saw humanity offer it.
