Amon doesn't blood end because he's good, he just has the ability. think of it like measuring someone's vertical jumps. if I can jump 4 feet of the group but measure 5", I only reach 9 feet high. If my friend measure 7" but can only jump 2.5", he can reach 9.5 feet high, but doesn't jump better.

We're completely ignoring context. If katara liked blood bending or didn't think that it should've been outlawed, she absolutely could've learned to use it without a full moon. Her potential is limitless.

Greatest waterbender of all time doesn't translate to most powerful, because you need to account for mastery, talent, power, knowledge etc. Bloodbending is very powerful yes, but amon didn't showcase any other very powerful blood bending feats, and i think his father was stronger than him anyways. Katarra is a better answer, idk if she's greastest of all time but her mastery of water, ice, vines, mud and mist along with creativity and willpower with bloodbending make her far more impressive than most waterbenders we've seen in comic and shows.

sorry Impound amon is nowhere near the best waterbender through out the series He’s never shown using standard waterbending no ice, no water whips, no healing, nothing outside of bloodbending.Even if we assume he has basic waterbending, there’s zero evidence that it’s anywhere near master level.His fighting style was entirely centered around bloodbending and chi-blocking.

There is a reason Katara was the only team Avatar member not in the flashback with Yakone, is bc if he had used the technique on her directly she’d have learned to overcome it. Just like she did with Hama. That’s why she isn’t able to cure Korra bc the technique was directly done to her. So yes, Katara is the most powerful and skilled waterbender.

Nah ..Katara can blood-bend without a full moon. Y’all remember Katara n Zukos quest to find her mother’s “unaliver” she blood-bended that soldier on the airship or sumin like that. I don’t remember it being a full moon in that moment. I think it was like early evening. Plz correct me if I’m mistaken yall😭🤣🫡

Tbh I wouldn't say Amon for strictly the discussion of actually Waterbending only. He just focuses on Bloodbending. I understand the argument why he is though but it should either be Unulaq or Katara. It's more so Katara because she like Hama is the only Waterbender that can pull water out of something and gives her a new source of water. The only one that needs some notice is Tonraq and or Ming-Hua. Ming-Hua is able to Waterbend w/o arms at all
