Week of Masters the city gives them $200, loads the homeless on buses and dumps them in Savannah. Do better Augusta. Augusta National donates plenty to help beautify and to charities but city only cares about cleaning up their act for the first week in April.

Augusta’s crime rate is well below the national average, with violent crime being three times lower than the national average. I lived there from 2018 through 2023 and felt safe the entire time. There are some bad areas, but the perception of Augusta being high crime is not backed by statistics. There’s not much to do relative to its pop. size, it’s a little run-down, but it’s much safer than many other metropolitan statistical areas in GA.

My family and I have posted up on Washington rd many times and fed them and had long conversations with them. They are actually protecting themselves and some may think they are off but they are mistreated a lot because of their situations. Most are in survival mode.
