as a host I came in to a table of six having their cars ear on one of the bar tables(we had a non bar section also) when I politely told them that we're were unable to allow them to have the baby there. and instead I could relocate them all to a new table together OR there was a non bar table directly beside the bar table slight up the ramp where mom and baby could sit so theyd still be next to each other, they absolutely threw a fit at me. thankfully manager had my back.

a woman was changing her baby at her booth when i worked at a dive and got mad at me when i told her not to saying we don't have a changing station in the bathroom. ma'am this is a dive bar in a college town. 70% of our clientele are under 25. what did you think

It’s odd that people act like that I live in the state of Ohio, where people under the age of 21 are allowed to be in bars. They just aren’t allowed to drink, but Indiana is our neighbor and if they serve alcohol at a bar in a restaurant it has to be in a separate part of the building then the place that they serve food.

One of the places I bartended at was a pizza place that basically was a dive bar after 10pm. We had a couple who used to bring their toddler and have him sleep in a booth while they drank at the bar. The girl (who was not the mom) used to get into fights constantly. Honestly they made me feel a lot better about my life choices

I worked at a pub for a year, one of the servers had to tell these parents they couldn't bring in their baby on a crowded Saturday night & I really couldn't understand why they didn't see a problem. This was also around 10:30-11pm. At that point everyone is out of it, there was already some broken glasses that night, no place for a baby.

I still personally think it’s weird af to bring your kid to where you’re getting drunk, surrounded by other drunk strangers. Just weird to me idk. Worked in Alabama where it’s also illegal like this and now I’m in FL where people sit their children in my chairs at my cocktail bar. We’ve had to say you can’t sit your kid at the bar. Like wtf.

This has got to be a generational thing, or location thing. I’m from WI, I spent more time in bars as a child then I ever have as an adult! One of my earliest memories is being behind the bar at my parents hangout “helping” making drinks
