The Koffee Queen :
People underestimate commuting to college from your parents house and living with them until you get married. Youd be shocked how much you save by not paying rent and still going out not as much because between you or your parents, you make home cooked meals almost daily. I got into the same grad school as people who went to big name schools and we all have the same job, I just have no debt and they have a ton

Had $20K, spent $19K on a car 😂 built it up to $5K, spent $1000 on an hvac repair for my home. Back to $4K now, it’s hard out there sometimes but I appreciate having it!

10k in it! I would only touch it if I lost my job. Normal unexpected expenses would just go on my credit card if for some reason I didn’t have enough in my checking.

I keep 3 months of expenses in my checking account. This usually will cover any small/medium emergencies. My actual savings/emergency fund is used for house down payments/paying off car loans/ etc.

My emergency fund is my stock portfolio so it’s quite a bit. If that feels too risky it should at minimum be in a high yield savings account. There should never be like 10k or more just sitting around waiting for an emergency losing value to inflation.
