I’m a ups driver. We are union & we get paid way more than that! But you gotta go through process to get in that seat & it don’t come easy. But it’s worth it to me. 10-14 hour days. We get OT & excellent benefits

The only delivery driver job worth having (money-wise) is UPS but it takes SO long to get to that top rate

I recently got hired at FedEx and they gave me 1 day of “Training” and I failed miserably and was told if I can’t put out like everyone else who has been there for 5+ years “we’ll see what we do with you” another supervisor told me “You’re cool so I’m going to let you know the other supervisor is trying to have you work for this week and let you go after, once some other drivers come back from vacation next week” I just got my stuff and walked out 🤦♂️

Malcolm X spoke about this in his book, the porter would stock the train and setup but they don't start getting paid until the train starts moving. That math is off

people who make $20/hr can't afford health insurance but also don't qualify for any kind of government assistance.

answer me this. I've been the only employee at the roofing company I've worked for for 15 yrs, since covid we can't beg people to work, and it's the same all over, help wanted signs everywhere even for fast food, gas stations. so my question is, what in the world are all these people doing to survive without working? the government ain't giving them enough assistance to make up to 30 an hour. so how are they living?

That’s FedEx Ground , those guys are independent contractors. If you work for FedEx express you’re working for corporate and you get paid by the hour with full benefits 401(k) overtime. There’s a huge difference. Fedex express bought out RPS years ago and turned it into Fedex ground to compete with UPS.

I work for FedEx sorting the packages. I make 17.80 an hour, but we’re only allowed 25 hours a week at the most but we don’t even reach 25 hours a week. i’m looking for another job as we speak.

Man, I'm at Fedex right now. I'm on the RTD side (CDL-A driver). I don't have to touch the freight, BUT the pay is only $26 per hr.
The best part about getting my CDL through them was the fact that training and expenses were 100% covered and reimbursed.
The worst part is, the best jobs in this industry require experience. 1 year minimum, 2+ yrs for the better jobs. When I say I'm STRUGGLING to stay around to get this experience.... And I'm not even gonna TALK about the condition of the EQUIPMENT we drivers are subject to.

I did it for 2 wks and quit. You talking about pay. The labor of the job isn’t even matching what you get paid. I quit because I clocked in at 8am b/c that’s when my shift started. So I end up getting 23hrs overtime they brought it to my attention moving forward to start clocking in at my 1st. Stop. When I received my check they adjusted my hrs frm 63 hrs to 39hrs. Honestly, I blame the drivers for putting up w/ the slave labor. These companies get away b/c ppl dnt know their worth.

The crazy part is, half of those FedEx drivers will defend that job with their life. They act like UPS isn’t SIGNIFICANTLY better
