I've had them fail, we started cleaning the d nordlocks off with brake clean and using a dab of blue loctite. The best was is to sharpen a set screw, then tap the nut and use the set screw. There is also another way to drill the heads and use cable, but never learned much about it. Apparently the military used to use the cable locking method
