Islam does not order or promote marrying four women, it was only allowed in special cases like after the Battle of Uhud, to support widows and orphans. The Quran clearly says "If you fear you can’t be just, then marry only one" (4:3), and 'You will never be able to be just between women, even if you try' (4:129). Even Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was married to only one wife Khadijah (RA) for 25 years. His later marriages were for religious and social reasons not personal desire.
