Nothing wrong with the first plastic one. Not sure how you crushed it like that. We’ve been using plastic anchors for years! We also used the expansion anchors (not the same brand). Both are perfectly good!

nope nope nope. the best thing for sheetrock is a wire hook. look for C shapped hooks with kink on the end fir holding the item. it is tiny, only makes a tiny hole, works on the principle of leverage. muvh better than anything here. no hammer needed
