I dropped my ex bestfriend because i wanted to hang out, but they cancelled on me for months. Even when i was like "hey we are both off school and work that week, lets meet" AND SHE WAS LIKE SORRY I WORK ONE DAY THAT WEEK I CANT HANGOUT. yup, that was the last push. I dont respond to their messages atm, if they cant spare an hour or 2 after almost a year, i cant spare time to answer their messages. 😔

I had a friend cancel plans with me, day of, 4 TIMES IN A ROW. Within the span of like 2 weeks. I keep agreeing to reschedule (around their availability of course) and they just. kept. canceling. I no longer make ANY one on one plans with this person. 4 times in a row?? Naw, good luck with your future endeavors, I will not be reaching out again. 🙄

I used to put so much effort into keeping a friend group together, the hardest thing with putting yourself first and letting those connections silently leave when you stop trying so hard, is how hard it is to make friends as an adult. There's no spaces like school for find your people again after.

Just cut off my “best friend” of over a decade because I finally woke up and realized I was never asking too much she’s just an immature person who doesn’t actually care about me 🤦🏻 she couldn’t even make time for me when my mom died in January (I haven’t hung out with her outside of a group at all this year 🤪)

The same “friends” also bailed on me when I was in a very dark place…. Saying I shouldve bene there for tjen… I was always there for them… but I need someone to be there for me once in a while too but hienstly good riddance I enjoy my peace now

Right. I work full time and am back in school. But I will put in effort if you show me mutual interest and effort. But you have 2 times max to bail on me before I’m done reaching out and/or accepting invites. It gets lonely but it’s less emotionally draining.

Literally trying so hard to absorb this. Bro doesn’t have a job, we’ve hung out consistently for nearly four years, but recently he don’t even read my texts, and i got the ick cuz i found that he reposted a mr beast video. He used to give me reasons on the rare occasion he’d decline, now its just a “i busy.” I def gotta go. I think his gf hijacked him and is probably separating him from friends n shit. Cuz he been weird. I ain’t doin all that.

I literally told a couple of people I found actual train routes to meet these people in their states and whenever it came to coordinate a hangout they would never bring it up again or they would deflect but they would drive 9 hours for someone else or 17 hours to go to Florida😭
