The thing about the current slang is that the younger generation uses it when talking to older generations. When I was younger, we always talked to the older generation with respect. They could have a conversation with us. Now, there is no respect and the older generation is clueless as to what the younger generation is saying half the time.

I don’t have a problem with new slang, I have a problem with creating words for terms that already exist like “ick” which is just “pet peeve” or “turnoff”. I also have a problem with shortening words like “just” to “js”.

My high-school showed us a film about not saying gay for everything and one kid on TV said "this is gay, that is gay, this pencil is gay" and the class all laughed. The school then all called our pencils gay. That movie backfired.

Every generation has their lingo we had our slang in the 70s. We had our slang in the 80s in the 90s and the kids have their slang today. I actually like theirs kind of makes sense.
